This is about the old scheduler feature. The page requires much work to reflect the current state of the scheduler, which has been completely redesigned.

Scheduler

File:Settings scheduler.png

The Scheduler can be used to change some behaviours of Shareaza depending on the time of day and day of the week. The Scheduler should complement Microsoft Windows Scheduler (see windows help), which can be used, for example, to open and exit Shareaza at certain times of day during the month, week, or year or according to certain events.

The Scheduler should be considered a feature still in development. It may have some bugs.

Along the vertical axis of the Scheduler are the days of the week, starting on Sunday. Along the horizontal axis are the hours of the day, in 24 hour clock format, starting at the period from midnight to 1 AM (0:00 - 0:59). Thus, the scheduler divides the week into 168 different time frames, each represented by a square in the scheduler. For example, the square on the top left of the scheduler represents 'Sunday, from midnight to 1 o'clock in the AM'.

Clicking on a square to change its pattern changes Shareaza's behaviour to either be unconnected, connected at full speed, or connected at a limited speed.

You can paint keys by pressing the right-mouse key over a patterned square, then, while holding down the right-mouse key, moving the pointer over any number of squares, so painting them with the pattern of the first square touched. (Shareaza 2.2.1.0)

Key

There are currently three choices:

  • Do not Connect : Shareaza will not be connected or transferring. Little or no bandwidth should be used.
  • Limited Connection: means that you shall be connected, but transferring data at a maximum rate of only some percentage of the Full Speed for both download and upload. The Full Speed for upload will be specified as the Maximum Upload Speed as shown in the Upload Settings, the Full Speed for download will be specified as the Maximum Download Speed shown in the Download Settings. ** please confirm **
  • Connect at Full Speed: Shareaza will connect to the networks you have chosen, and will transfer files at normal rates.

Options

  • Enable Scheduler: This setting must be checked for any settings you have in the schuduler to have effect.
  • X % of Bandwidth Under Limit: This sets the percentage by which upload and download will be limited. These limits will be effective during those times of the week when you have Shareaza scheduled to be on a Limited Connection.
  • Connect to only G2 when Limited: If this is checked, when Shareaza is scheduled to be on a limited connection it will disconnect from Ed2k and Gnutella, so that it remains only connected to Gnutella2 (G2). Later, during times when it is scheduled to be fully connected, it will reconnect to any networks you by default connect to (if you have checked, in the eDonkey2000 network settings 'autoconnect every session', and in Gnutella network settings, 'always connect to Gnutella1').(NOTE--> PLEASE CONFIRM)
