Shareaza 2.7.0.0

Postby raspopov » 31 Aug 2013 09:37

New version compiled: Shareaza 2.7.0.0. Huge bugfix release... should we call it a Shareaza Service Pack? Test it please.

I've sorted the commit messages into categories to create a change log for v2.7.0.0.

It would be nice if some of the native English speakers could improve it a little, though. Once that has happened (or before), we can add it to the respective wiki page.

This a release candidate or is this official?

In other news, I figured out how to get Shareaza to successfully compile in Visual Studio 2012... I'll try to make a patch when I get the chance. There's a function or whatever it was that had to be renamed on this one line in this particular file in the Shareaza project, and there's a header you have to substitute out in the BugTrap project in this one file. Without those changes, neither of those projects compile but everything else appears to be fine. I haven't actually tested these binaries yet but I will in a bit.

It's there, mostly: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/vcblog/archive/ ... 57555.aspx

But, when I tried it last night after reading your post I ran into a couple problems. One involved simply turning on MASM's SAFESEH option. The other error I wasn't sure how to fix because it sounded like things needed to be moved around. The changes I described in my previous post were required as well.

It looks like it's definitely possible to get it working, but since I'm not a coder I could only get so far.

I installed (clean install) Shareaza 2.7.0.0 64-bit and upload to eMule clients is broken again - all connections are dropped after a few seconds. I think that eDonkey.FrameSize should be 90KB, not 10KB, but max value is now 10KB.. Can anyone confirm?

i'm also experiencing what tp2001a is saying.

http://sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/share ... f=3&t=1576

and like for 2.6, not only uploading to edonkey barely works, i'm still having shareaza using more amount of upload bandwidth than it should
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1352
except now we cant use the trick that did work for 2.6

I done some researches of this case and found interesting facts: Shareaza was initially broken. It can send wrong opcode to uploaders (hosts in upload window) telling them that it has no more available file parts for upload when incoming upload requests was not received (instead of for example "stay in queue" opcode). Shareaza works in past versions solely because of very slow upload speed, so new upload request almost always arrives before previous transfer completed. And when a slow speed issue was fixed an old new bug appears.

P.S. Also I found why Shareaza wont download files bigger than 4Gb... Wrong opcode too.

Using debug build viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1570
I show an aMule client in my uploads since last night.
Can't tell if it failed, the cancelled, or they got the other half of the file from someone else.

To be honest I'm concerned (or should I be) about the amount of red-text in the log window, from the torrent network.
With the experimental torrent options on, I can see people connecting (or trying) but little activity.
I know part of my issue is because I don't have access to the router, so I cannot forward my ports.
In which case I would expect to see a similar amount of failed connections from the other networks.

Im still working on slow ed2k upload speed problem... For Shareaza it limited up to 18 KB/s because of eMule (as main player on ED@K network) asks for exactly 180 KB of data every 10 seconds no matter how fast Shareaza provides. Sending extra control packets to eMule helps nothing, it just re-asks already asked block. A mystery...
