Feature suggestion: targeted query

Postby kifan » 07 May 2011 10:36

Feature suggestion: the ability to send a search query not through the network, but to a specific individual source.

Example: suppose you search for X, and find a source with X that quickly uploads it to you. You think it fairly likely that that source would also have Y (something related to X), which you also want. It would be wasteful to query the whole network for Y without first seeing if the source that got you X has Y, but that source doesn't support host browsing.

Here's where the proposed feature would come in: you'd be able to query the one source directly, with a right click in the search results tab or an option on the browse host screen near the "host doesn't support browsing" message (when that occurs). In the scenario outlined, you'd query your X source for Y, and only if that drew a blank bother to query the whole network.

Any comments on this idea?
