CIA.vc Commits

Postby skinvista » 11 May 2011 23:30

A minor task for commit notifications.

The CIA.vc service IRC bots/page have long been the most convenient method of tracking project updates, but has now been discontinued.

Sourceforge has grown more inconvient of late, while Trac and/or Ohloh remain a bit disconnected.

Therefore a simple request for renewed IRC bot notifications or other active "push" service apart from raw rss feeds.

Likewise, are there any usefull services/changes available for simple/coherent project transparency?

Nevermind.

That was quick. Apparently the CIA.vc database/domain has been taken over by Atheme.org from the original dev, and is already back up.

For those who haven't used it, the CIA page cleanly shows the latest ~20 commits within a minute,
with a direct link to the Sourceforge commit page, plus its own modified files tree overview link.
In addition to providing IRC bots and formatted RSS feeds.

Weird. For some reason they changed the capitalization of the project names ("shareaza" instead of "Shareaza"), so it was still necessary to edit live bookmarks. Which was not difficult obviously, but made it so I wouldn't have noticed it was back up, if you hadn't posted. Thanks.
