Upload slots free but uploads mostly queued the whole time?

Postby brainstorm81 » 28 May 2011 22:32

hello guys,

i have a strange problem that i cannot understand.

i use one of my servers to upload content to gnutella networks over shareaza

i set up the following queue:

Entry Criteria:

Both partial and libary files
Protocols: HTTP
Enable this queue (For sure checked)
Minimum number of transfers: 1
Maximum number of transfers: 100
Maximum number waiting in queue: 100

Saturated bandwith percentage: 50% (50Mbit)
Reward uploaders
Rotate after N seconds: 600

I have about 50 downloaders most time in my upload queue and in the same time about maximum 5 peoples download from my server.

why i cannot send my files to more peoples at once?

are there some settings in advanced tab maybe that i have to set?

i watched my server about 4 hours now. always big queue and between 1 and 5 uploads in the same time.

What is the actual upload gained? Maintaining upload connections has overhead, so Shareaza will not upload to more clients than it needs to reach your upload bandwidth. This actually increases performance.

It is possible to have a connection fast enough that Shareazas default settings essentially throttle connection. Look for advanced settings related to packet throttles or packet/chunk sizes. Unfortunately I have a slow connection, so I can't really help more than that.

And please remember to post here, if you find an actual problem. The devs might find it useful to hear practical experiences about which settings need to be increased for fast connections.

hello,

have about one megabyte per seconds upload but possible should be about 5 megabytes.

i played with the option upload.throttlemode where i cannot find description for it.

also tried to play with QueuePoll settings minimum and maximum.

i cannot see any changes...

i saw something other now!

about 10-15 minutes after i start shareaza then i have about 20 simultan uploads and NO queues what is really good. speed is also good about 1-4mb/s

after this time from one second to other gnutella stops completly uploading for some minutes and transfer window dont show anything!

and than all few minutes there are starting about maximum 1-5 uploads (like the main problem) and the queues will incerase.

then from one to other second again gnutella stops completly uploading for some minutes again and i see not any output in transfer window.

so seems like i have a problem with the gnutella settings / network.

i tried all combinations of the following G2 connection settings:

mode: hub / leaf / optimal
leaf to hub: 2 / 3 (same happens after a while)
hub to leaf: 500 / 700 / 1024
hub to hub: 40 / 50 / 54

cpu usage about 30 and 48%
ram usage go after start fast up to 250mb and after hours it go to about 1,5gb
yesterday appcrash after 1,7gb ram usage

maybe the problems are my gnutella settings?

Yes, your G2 setting are in fact wrong, please restore them to the defaults. Not sure if it is related to your upload problem, though.

Do you mean one mega byte per second per transfer or total? (I think you said Shareaza handles about five transfers?) Probably you mean total since if you got that much per transfer that would be about what you'd expect in total, right?

I think throttle mode means whether the bandwidth throttles refer to maximum or average bandwidth.
