Hub mode with 0 leaves

Postby old_death » 11 Mar 2010 20:25

Yesterday, my (main) computer (core i7 based with good DSL; connection test passing 100%) turned into a Hub - and only connected to Peers, but did not allow a single Hub2Leaf connection: There were many connection attempts (every some seconds one) but none of them managed to connect.

I think this can cause the big amount of low-leaf hubs (green) on the picture.

This is why I am repeating my request to implement a new system to calculate the Hub rating...

BTW, can anyone find the topic with my proposal again??? I seem to be unable to find my topic about this again... I've just spent more than an hour and couldn't find it...

And again, Shareaza decided my computer to become a Hub. Connection Test passes just fine and I'm connected to 6 Peers - but to 0 leaves. There are tries to establish a connection, but they all seem to fail.

I'll let my PC run to check whether this changes with the time. if anyone has a question or a test I could do, just tell me.

One I can do for now is to confirm such behaviour. Here it happens frequently (exact log messages), sometimes connection is accepted sometimes not (verbosity: debug). I also noticed a lot of 'Accepted an incoming connection....' messages but no indications what was the result of handshake (nothing happens with a given ip, even no info about timed out handshake or something, verbosity: info). I forced my shareaza into hub mode (port forwarding setup corectly, of corse ;)), then restarted so it starts in hub mode. Now I'm running about 30 minutes and have 28 neighbours and there are tries to connect to me.

EDIT: After about hour, I've 55 neighbours and Shareaza is still rejecting connections...

EDIT2: Maybe this is related:
