Question about Downloads?

I have been using Shareza for quite sometime and got a lot of great stuff. I just upgraded to the new Shareza and now instead of getting zip, 7z, or rar files I am all of a sudden getting .exe files, is this a new way of downloading files? I have had some problems in the past with exe files and viruses and have avoided downloading anything that is an execute file, also I use shareza to let me see in folders to see if there are any execute files, if there are I do not download it seeing mostly it is a virus or something that I do not want on my computer. Is there any way I can do all that without filtering out the contents? When I tried to ban the users everything goes, I just want to be able to see what I am getting without having to lose everything off the screen.

Most probably you're just getting spam... Try using a spam filter (there should be a link for the "all in one anti spam filter" somewhere on this forum) and check whether you pass the connection test (see the help menu). I you do not pass that test, have a look at our wiki and search there for "port forwarding" to find out how to proceed.

ok, I thought I figured it out but now a new problem arose, first the solution to my first problem was a simple one I hit application instead of archive seeing I was looking for zip, rar and 7z folders, but sometimes though when I am looking for something it is normally an execute file (I do 3d art and one of the sites I normally go to uses execute files instead of archive files, or some other self installer program). Ok now the other problem which makes me sad, I have just downloaded at least over a half a dozen folders of items I wanted and everyone of them when I scanned them using my antivirus program came back with viruses. That is a rate of 100%, with the older Shareza program I came back with a rate of 5% of every item I have downloaded, that is a big jump. So I uninstalled your new updated version and reloaded the older version (2.3) and now I am not getting any hits at all, what is the deal? The only hits I have been coming up with is zips with crack files in them, the sites I am asking for has NO need for crack files nor anything else which tells me all there is is viruses and that is what is making me sad, I like Shareza and I have been using it for a very long time now (over 5 years) and I have gotten great content and I sure would hate to quit using this wonderful program, but now it seems like everyone is out to hurt our computers and it seems like I have no choice, is there anyway around this?

just out of curiosity, which version did you upgrade to?

2.5, the latest one that Shareza is now offering. I reloaded 2.3 btw I am now getting the files now, I just went back to applications with 2.3 instead of archives and out of 5 downloads I only got 1 with a virus which is about average, instead of 6 downloads and all 6 with viruses.
