is this a true Shareaza presence? I remember something that it is not, but i there were no search results for "www.shareaza.com" in this phpbb forum.

In 2007, the shareaza.com domain expired and a company called Discordia Ltd. following orders of several right management groups (mainly french ones) picked the domain to distribute a spyware software under the name Shareaza. Also, they have the trademark.

Does that malware require registration?

V4 installed a toolbar in IE that was hard to get rid of, not sure what it's purpose was, scumware would be a suitable description I think
