Does Shareaza encrypt network Traffic

Postby engerya » 04 Sep 2010 05:47

i am using Road runner cable internet from time warner and they employ network throttling, which is very annoying but if could verify that Shareaza uses newtork encrypting to protect p2p traffic and hopefully prevent those nastly MPAA and ISP letters from appearing thanks in advance.

Repeating what kevogod said for emphasis:

Encryption does not in anyway protect you from being sued for copyright infringement. It is not even supposed to.

It also does not protect you from throttling. While many ISPs only throttle unencrypted traffic, there is no actual technical reason making throttling encrypted traffic impossible.

to put it simply...
shareaza does not promote or condone copyright infringement.
if you have nothing to hide then there is no need to hide it.
shareaza does not encrypt or obfuscate network traffic.

I agree with a light optional encryption and obfuscation.
