sources staying on active with no action

Postby maurice10 » 20 Jan 2010 12:56

I am downloading a large file sources say active with 2 downloads only getting in speed 7b/s occasionally, I have also qeude for a few days I get to #1 and then it starts to go backwards to 5 or disappears of the screen.
Am I doing anything wrong?
I have just checked my uploads and one one of the downloads that show on my transfers list seems to be the same person that his uploading at the same time could this be the problem that I cannot download?
I have just douled checked the two status downloads are also uploading from me, on the same file.

No you're not doing anything wrong. Sources appear and disappear especially with gnutella. The best advice I can give you was for the emule client. It doesn't like to be watched. What it like is for you to start the download then minimize it to the system tray and go about doing something else. Eventually, you'll receive the file. So I limit my upload and download bandwidths so file transfers don't interfere with other things and just let it run. Then, depending on the file and number of sources, in anywheres from a few hours to a few days I've got the file. I've had some where if may take a couple of weeks to complete. It happens. But then again, I don't download little mp3 files. Mostly movies so the file sizes are on the large size. 700+ MB. And I avoid torrents with all the trouble they're in. So I mainly use ed2k and g2.
