File Error

Recently two of my downloads got File Error with no known reason. It forgets any part downloaded and tries to start from zero. Whats wrong with it?

The 99% success solution for this case is to free more disk space.

I think Windows logs the error somewhere with the specific error code. Microsoft being Microsoft the usefulness of the error information is variable.
