Alpha Test has takenover Shareaza

Help Please
My system was running slow and I had two large files trying to down load. One at 256 gig and one at 45 gig.
Downloading into a 100 gig hard drive with 500 gig free.
Now I have a Alpha Test version that will not open or run. I had been working on downloading these files for a month and now nothing.
I may still have the partial files in a folder so when I get a Shareaza that will work I might be able to save some time on down loading.
I got the copy off of the web file name is Shareaza_2.5.3.0_Win32.exe
Below is all of the info I have at present.
I am running windows xp pro.
I did snooze my virus protection while trying to install.
I down loaded the file from: http://shareaza.sourceforge.net/
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Warning: this is an alpha test version of Shareaza
It is not for general use, and is only for testing specific features in a controlled environment. Etc
Click yes or no: of course no closes the program and yes gives another error:
Debug Assertion Failed!
Program: C:\progran files\Shareaza\shareaza.exe
File: c:\users\kotoole\media\documents\visual studio 2008\projects\Shareaza\flags.cpp
Line: 97
For information on how your program can cause an assertion failure, see the VisualC++ documentation on asserts.
(Press Retry to debug the application)
Retry brings up a Bug Trap program I submitted Bug:
Excerption Reason Shareaza.exe caused BREAKPOINT in module "C:\Program Files\Shareaza\Shareaza.exe" at 001B:0099A490
I sent the debug file.
I found a old copy of Shareaza 2.5.1.0 and installed it when it started it still brought up a box stating it was an ALPHA TEST version. I clicked on it ok and still got the Debug Library.
Sent another Debug report. It is about 7pm eastern standard time on Sunday November 21, 2010.

The flags assert is probably due to the file containing the flag images being somehow corrupted or incompatible (from different version). You should do a clean reinstall, if it gives you the warning and assert errors it is using the debug version and that means that installing the older version failed. You could try installing into a new directory. The simplest solution might be getting the latest alpha and installing that though, that should install over whatever you have. Sorry I can't be more useful, but I hope one of the suggestions helps.

Its non-standard flags image file (Flags.png) dimensions. You must use fresh one from current daily build installer.

Thanks
how do I do a clean Install? I have deleted through control panel and also just deleted in programs. I think there is stuff staying in registry. How do I get rid of that. I believe that there is something wrong in my file as when I open Shareaza it slows my entire system down to where nothing runs. I did get the Alpha out but had to reinstall windows is there something going on with XP that could be causing issues. Thanks

I don't think you need to get rid of the registry to make a clean (enough) install.

Try if your problems still exist after you installed the latest alpha build: http://shareaza.sourceforge.net/?id=debug
