how do I hide the popup that comes up when adding a torrent?

You mean the message asking about whether you would like to start downloading the torrent? I don't think it can be hidden...

I'm not sure,but it might be under Tools > Shareaza settings > General > general > Show a prompt before opening URIs but that might just be for magnet links

downloads.showmonitorURLs maybe? I know what you mean, but I always disable it right away when I first install Shareaza, so I've only done it two or three times over a period of years.
