After install, search returned 1000+ files; 0 on re-start

Postby mayorem » 03 Apr 2011 07:00

I installed Ver. 2.5.4.0 today on my Win 7 x64 machine. After the install, I did a search for a video and Shareaza found over 1000+ files. However, when I closed the program and re-started it, nothing was found and two files that were downloading stopped and didn't start again for several hours. It was only closed a minute or so and in the past, the downloads have started back within a few minutes, never over an hour.

I have used Shareaza for years, am behind a router but have never seen this big of a difference before. Any suggestions?

Do you pass the connection test? (It's available from within the Help menu inside of Shareaza.)

Looks like Shareaza failed at storing its state to the disk when closed and then reading it back. This sometimes happens on Vista and later due to their stricter security thinking Shareaza has no right to access the folders in question in some specific way. I'd start by trying a clean reinstall as an administrator. Although Shareaza does IIRC now have some command line options that might help.

It shouldn't, all PCs that can run 64 bit version of Windows support SSE2.

EDIT: By the way I misunderstood your actual problem so the "advice" I gave is unlikely to help (or hurt). Are you succeeding in connecting to hubs?
