Shareaza

I have been using 2.1.0.0 since 2005 with no problems. Recently I get "Shareaza.exe has encountered a problem and must shutdown" within a few seconds. I know that I probably will have to uninstall 2.1.0.0 and then download the latest version. I understand how to do this, but I am afraid of losing the several gigs of files that I have downloaded. They are in a folder in My Documents. Are they safe there. I don't want to move them because I have several programs that use these files.

All completed downloads are untouched by an update of Shareaza.

if the files are completed downloads then you will not lose any files. If they are still downloading you will probably lose them but you may be able to recover them with some effort.
