hi, i wonder if anyone can help me with edonkey. every time i search for a song or video all of the searches that come up the edonkey ones always come up as been firewalled, yet all other searches for gnutella 1 and 2 are ok. it says i am connected to all three but i have been having problems with edonkey for months now on shareza. is there a simple solution for this. i will be glad of any help.

Your question is just strange. Look here
https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/ ... ?title=FAQ as I dont understand a problem. Please remember forum rule no discussion about copyrighted files!

hi, thanks for reply. but what i mean is if for example i put a search in audio for a certain song and do a search, maybe there will be say for example a 100 hits come up for that song, when i look down the page every client with edonkey 2000 next to it has the shield with cross inside of it, which says " sources for this file are firewalled". yet all the other clients are readily available, unless of course you are in a queue, or the sources for this file are unstable comes up. this happens on every search i do.

Have you tried to download? I think more important is if that found can be downloaded or not. As if it downloads then why to care if it is firewalled or not? Of course this can be determined by many things, but first check if you have set your Shareaza properly: connection test, firewall, portforeward, GWC and MET (etc as Shareaza Install Guide by OldDeath show it step by step) - you have influence on this. You dont have influence on how other user set his soft. Also it coul be a NAT at your ISP perhaps. Unless you will check that you can pass connection test there is no sence to think why sources are firewalled. Also Shareaza looks for aviable sources when downloading so can use more sources then only listed in search. Look at this more practically, in general. IMHO.
I personally just dont care if sources are firewalled or not, this is Shareaza's deal, and it does it. Or, sometimes there are just no aviable sources and can't just make them by hardly thinking "let there be sources". See in Install Guide and in Wiki about downloading and improveing this.

You're not alone, I'm have the exact same problem, I'm playing around with the firewall settings but everything seems to be ok!, Edonkey shows connected, but all the results from edonkey clients are firewalled, and i cant download much because that's where most of my results are from, sucks. I'll be tracking this thread and if i find any answer i'll be sure to share.

I too now have the same problem (edonkey clients are firewalled and hardly anything is downloading). It seems to have happened all by itself as I have changed nothing. If anyone out there can help, it sure would be appreciated.

Have you all made sure that your own PC is reachable from the network? (e.g. do you pass the connection test?)
