i had the same thing, it freezes but recovery itself automaticly after > 2 mins.
That happens only when a big file (pending to be hashed) is beeing hashed when shareaza starts up....

Problem apparently solved. I deleted all the downloads and started again. Now seems to be working fine. Not sure what the problem was -- something about a particular file?
