the file says 150mb is downloaded

but when i preview the video it plays for 3 seconds.

im not a rocket scientist but if 3 seconds of video is 150mb, what planet was that resolution made on.

any sugegstions on how to actually watch the full preview?. im just worried im wasting my time on a broken file if im only getting 3 secs

it all depends on what parts of the file you have. I have had files that are 99% complete but would not preview. You may not have the video's index or headers yet. You can try opening it with VLC media player if you have it and this will often give much better results. It may even offer to repair the index for you but that would probably screw up your download.
