Shareaza

I am using Shareaza 2.5.5.0 and my HD is NTFS formated.
I noticed that download-files (DVD-iso's) above 4 GB don't download above the 4 GB.
one example : A file of 4,29 GB downloads to 4 GB.
When I open the download to see the uploaders I notice these things.
1/ All are Emule-users.
2/ Most of them don't exeeds the 4 GB.
3/ None of them hase between the 4 GB and the 4,29 GB.
4/ There are users that has a full size of 4,29 GB.

Strange ?.. It's getting stranger when I looked at the uploadfiles of one who do have the whole file.
When I looked there for the file it gives a size of 191,07 TB.
He even had a file (DVD-iso) of 32,10 PB.

Is this a bug in Shareaza or somewhere else ?
Is it still possible to download the whole file ?

Looks like the hint for a problem with our eD2k large file support...

EDIT: It's also possible that there's a problem with your settings. Could you check whether you have enabled the advanced setting eDonkey.LargeFileSupport?

That's bad because that indicates there is probably a bug within Shareaza...

How will I know there is a fix ?
And could I keep this uncompleted files to complete with the fix ?

And if you feel they do, you can pause them from the context menu.

Can I Downgrade to 2.5.4.0 ?
I thought this bug wasn't here yet.

You should rather upgrade to one of the current alpha builds, as this discussion is quite old which increases the chance of this being already fixed in the current development code base.

Indeed, this is quite old, but unfortunately there isn't a fix yet.
It is #186 and maybe got something to do with #182.

I see several functions are being add to Shareaza but wouldn't it be wiser to first fix the old bugs and bring out 2.5.5.1 rather then going on to 2.5.6.0 ?
I can imagin that new users will go on and try another program when they experience bugs like this.

Shareaza's management is pure anarchy - Whoever shouts the loudest wins. Shareaza was created and is maintained by volunteers which means they often do what they want, when they want, because they are not being compensated for there work. Adding new features is fun and gets you recognition in the community, plus nobody is going to refuse a new feature because there are bugs that need to be fixed first (unless of course the two are closely related). Fixing bugs, on the other hand, is hard and and gets you no such recognition. If you or someone you know can fix the bugs or knows how to fix them please feel free to submit a patch and if we like it then it will probably be committed, tested, and included in the next release.
