Users accessing other folders

I have set my Shareaza options [vesion 2.5.5.0] so that users can ONLY access my Shareaza/Downloads folder; yet, lately, I have noticed users downloading files from other folders. To reset that, I have changed the allowed folder to another one, then back to Shareaza/Downloads. This has not solved the unauthorized access to other folders. I have enjoyed Shareaza for many years but never encountered this. My firewall is set with Shareaza as an exception. I am running Win 7 64-bit. Your help would be appreciated.

These files accessed by and uploaded to other users in the network, are they shown in your Shareaza library viewer? If yes, are they shared (you can see this using the context menu on a file)?

Hi old-death, yes, you can see them in the Shareaza library All Files because they are shared so I can access them from my other computers on my home network. The thing is what's the use to direct other users to my Shareaza/Downloads folder if they can bypass that and go into any folder that's "privately" shared? Shouldn't that be corrected in the Shareaza program? It worked in the past.
As a matter of fact, when someone is downloading something from you, you can sometimes have access to their "shared" folder, not their other folders.

Can you provide a screenshot of Library folders tree?

I tried to upload 2 jpg files of the screen shots of Library folders and organizer but the system keeps telling me that they are invalid. Also tried copy/paste but it also does not work. The organizer tree shows my c:\users\downloads , \favourites, applications and documents. It seems to show everything that's shared and there is no mention of the Shareaza\Downloads. Very strange!!

I think that by accident I stumbled across the solution I as looking for. In the Library tab of Shareaza, you have 2 "sub-tabs" Folders and Organiser. Under Folders, in the left-hand column, Shareaza takes all the folders under C:\users\name\ and lists them there. When you right-click on each folder, a window opens up and you have the choice of sharing them or removing them. I removed the folders from Shareaza but they are still shared in my network.
This clearly shows that the creator[s] of the last version of Shareaza decided to let Shareaza automatically add the folders of C:\users\name under Windows 7, apart from the option of sharing the contents of the Shareaza/Downloads folder. This definitely calls for an immediate correction because some users may have very personal info that they do not want to share. Also, I did not find any reference to that in the help section. This only came up by accident when I noticed that someone was downloading a confidential file which I was sharing on my home network.

Raspopov, sorry to disagree with you but when you place your cursor on the C:\Collections, the pop-up balloon clearly shows C:\users\name\AppData\Roaming\Shareaza\Collections; yet, when installing Shareaza, I clearly indicated Collections should be in D:\Shareaza\Collections. Would it not make sense to place this option with the other settings under Tools/Settings/General/Library Store Collections Here? so that users are aware of the situation and can make the decision whether to let other users have access to these folders? Should the user decide that the C:\user folders are not to be shared, the folders created there by Shareaza will be useless. I always place all downloads to be shared in the D:\Shareaza\Downloads folders. Why do Torrents have to be in a different folder than the other dl's?

I was definitely NOT entangled in folders. I have been using Shareaza for many, many years and highly recommending it to all my trainees and students. A little acknowledgement would have sufficed. So much for trying to help others. Case closed.
