Connection test error or times out

When I test it says:
Results

TCP:

The TCP connection has timed out. This can be due to a stealth firewall or router that has not been configured properly for Shareaza.

UDP:

No answer has been received from your client. This can have various reasons, like that your firewall or router isn't properly configured for Shareaza, or Shareaza is not running on this port, or not connecting to the networks.

At least one problem has been detected and you probably have to configure your firewall or router for Shareaza.

I have the port set to the default, my firewall is configured but I still cant seem to find any matches on my searches, if I do they take a day to pop up. Anything that is transfering is alway pending, searching or queued. I am not very literate when it comes to router or actual computer stuff but I use McAfee and made sure that was set for Shareeza. Can anyone suggest any ideas please. Thanks for your time

This means that either you made a mistake when configuring your firewall (which you can test by temporarily disabling the firewall and running the test again) or you also do need to configure your router. In that case, have a look at this wiki page: https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/ ... llsRouters

Well i guess when I reconfigured I needed to reboot my computer, didn't change anything and had to reboot and got this on the retest:

TCP:
The TCP connection has been accepted by your computer and the request has been answered. This means that other clients from the networks can properly connect to you.

UDP:
An answer has been received from your client! This means that Shareaza is able to receive UDP packets from the network.
Congratulations, everything seems to be fine and Shareaza should work properly.

Now what can I do to increase search capability. been searching for an hour and hasn't returned any matches. I am searching for common items. I really appreciate all your help on these chanllenges. Thank you so much

So are you connected to Gnutella2 or is it simply trying but not managing to connect?
