Shareaza

i am new to shareaza but damn nothing at all will download, i tried a song. connections timed out or error'd. tried a video connections timing out. NOTHING WILL DOWNLOAD please help me i dont want to delete shareaza because i can see a little preview thing of the file i want it just wont download. one file worked for like 5 seconds and got to .05 percent. then stayed at pending. some go to searching but same thing not downloading, i tried the connection test but that said tcp error. encountered an problem with a firewall or router. does that cause my dilema?

run the connection test from the help menu. if either TCP or UDP fails you need to do port forwarding manually (don't worry, we can help)

I have been using Shareaza for about 15 years with few problems. however, after doing an upgrade and taking recommended steps, I am getting the following error messages. downloads do not complete. \please help. thank you.

Results
TCP: The TCP connection has timed out. This can be due to a stealth firewall or router that has not been configured properly for Shareaza.
UDP: No answer has been received from your client. This can have various reasons, like that your firewall or router isn't properly configured for Shareaza, or Shareaza is not running on this port, or not connecting to the networks.

I finally got 3 files to download, but a 3 had the error message "unable to play, file may be damaged or lack the proper codecs". since it is unlikely that all three files are damaged, how do i adress the missing codecs issue? thanks again.

Did you check the troubleshooting section of our wiki? It contains a link to help when you don't pass the Shareaza Connection Test.

By why do some downloads continue suddenly when I click on "Resume" ??? Normally I think by clicking on "Resume" - the process of queueing starts again and everything will take longer but they don´t suddenly continue! ?!?
