AVI preview files without index

When trying to use the preview function with .avi-files everything went fine.
ok, the build-in player won't play them to 99,99 %
OD said, this can be configured in the settings, but I'm to less in knowledge to do this.
So the files will be opened with VLC or VirtualDub.
When now trying to seek ( or saying <play forward> ) it is horrible slow or undoable, which means waiting for an hour.
Can you please update the avi-preview-files with the necessary index ?

you won't get one, a fix even less.

from what i'm understand and remembered (so i could be dead wrong here), it has something to do with the player's code they have lost and so no longer work on. you have topic on that in the help section.

there you will learn that now you have to use divfix to create a preview.

There is a simpler work-around which I use. Install a media player of your choice in your Programs folder. Select "custom" in the drop-down box in Shareaza for selecting a media player, then browse to your player program folder and select the player's .exe file. I have used VLC and Media Player Classic, and both can preview partially downloaded files.
