Looking for Simple Point Form Instructions for setting up my Shareaza for Maximum
Downloads and Speed and Search Results once and for all so I can make an
Acronis Image and like never have to do it again after that ................



Dear Shareza people

Hi there

I was wondering if someone could please give me very very simple
easy step by step point form idiot proof instructions on how
to set up my Shareaza application in the best way humanly
possible and how to get the maximum downloads .....
But people explain it to me like in the way someone
would talk to a small child like

First do this

then do this

and then do this

and then do this

~~~~~ Just explain to me how to
forward my ports and what are the
best ports to use and how to get
the maximum downloads from Shareaza

my Internet connection is 26 MBPS
at the moment ......................

Once I have my Shareazza set up perfectly
I am going to make an image of the System Drive
on the PC it's installed on so that why I should
be set "forever" when using Shareaza .....

As of right now every time eMule starts
on this PC it automatically updates the
Server List thing a ma gig ......
I want my Shareaza to do the same thing

As of right now I am getting no results
from any searches with my Shareazza

after I post this I am going to try my
best to find some instructions on how
to do this but there is a lot of stuff
online ....

I am sort of a "computer guy" but
I am a rave promoter and I make
rap music so I sort of have the
mentality of someone between the
ages of six and twelve ... so someone
just break it down to me in an insanely
simple point form way please .....

After I get it set up I will make an
Acronis Image so that way I like
never have to do it again ........

while I am waiting for a reply / replies
to this I will try and look for
instructions online ... but there
is so much stuff it's giving me
a headache ........

I have DSL Internet and its
26 MBPS off the jack and
I have a basic understanding of
port forwarding / pin holing

As of right now my eMule is
absolutely perfect I think
and it starts with windows
and automatically updates
the server list thing at start
up and I get TONS of results
using the ( Global Servers "
option ....

I sort of tried to follow the
quick set up guide for
Shareaza but like I said currently
I get absolutely no results
right now.............

I have been Google ing

" set up Shareaza .. simple step by step "

but that is not working ....

There is no need to do that.
Go to your installed folder.
You will find two files. SaveSettings.bat and RestoreSettings.bat
After running SaveSettings.bat copy the new created ShareazaSettings.reg to a save place
Be sure Raza is not not running when you do that !

Download the newest DailyBuild ( can't find the link at the moment,sorry ), doubleclick the saved .reg and all is done.
Don't forget to update your Windows before.

I downloaded that .pdf file but there is NO WAY I can read it
right now because I have to go to school now

However I double clicked on that Save Settings thing
in the shareaza Folder and I think that " did something
to my Shareaza because now I am getting lots of
results from popular search terms .. However
its not as Uber Mega Wicked as my eMule after
following these instructions here

After doing everything they said in that link If I do
a popular search terms and select the " Global Severs " option
in the drop down search my results are very very good aka " retarded good "
if I click the " more " button I can get like 1300 results from popular searches
which is what I would like to do with Shareaza

I tried to install the latest 'Daily Build' like you
suggested from here

But that did not work it just screwed up my Shareazza
and I was getting no results again so I reinstalled it

I sort of tried to do what you said and I think double
clicking on that Save Settings thing and right clicking
and running as administrator as " worked " as of
right now I am getting like 600 results for very VERY
poplar search terms ........ I just got 910 results
from a word just now ....If that is the best you
can get from Shareazza then just let me know ....
IF there is something more I can do to make
it as awesome and perfect as possible please
let me know ...............

I cant read that freaking .pdf file because
I have to go to school now ...............

Is all I really have to do is double click on
that " Save Settings " thing in the
program folder and then that's it ?

I will try and read that .pdf when I get home
or when I take the bus to Toronto ....

What I would like to do is set up
my Shareaza perfectly and then take
an ACRONIS TRUE IMAGE HOME .tib
snapshot of that System Drive on
which Shareaza is installed
that why my Shareaza Client will
be perfect "forever" like my eMule is

My eMule starts at start up and automatically
starts download thing the Server List thing and
gives me a High ID every time I start it up ..................

just tell me how to set up my Shareaza is a simple way please ....

I've written that guide to ease setting up Shareaza. It may not be an easy step by step guide as each setup is quite different, however it will probably help you quite a little.

Note also that most within the eMule guide can also be applied to Shareaza. You can especially add the same server.mets to your Discovery Services and query them (or if the eMule guide is not using those you can add the servers manually to your eD2k section of the Host Cache).

OK long story short when I follow all the instructions here

After I do that ( and I have made an Acronis Image of this C Drive so hopefully
I will almost never have to do that again ... )

After I follow those instructions exactly if I click
on a Sever that has like 30 million files and I
select " Global Servers " from the drop down menu
thing ... and I select the server that has the most files
which currently is like 40.70 million and I do a
search for a very very popular search term ... Like a singer from
Iceland and I click search and then I keep clicking "more"
I can currently get 1869 results ... This is in my eMule
I would call that very very very good ... even " retarded good "

When I do search for that same search term in my SHareaza
I am only getting 150 / 172 results ....
I followed your advice and I added this

To the Discovery Service Section of my Shareaza
and I also tried to add that to the Host Cache
Section of my Shareaza and then restarted it
but I am still only getting like 150 results which
pretty much sucks compared to my eMule .....

I think I might have downloaded your guide
in a .pdf I might print it out and read it on
on the bus sometime ... I was hoping
to get simpler more basic instructions ...

which is very nice .....

Also every time I start Shareaza its giving me
a pop up that says I am using an older version of
Shareza and I should download the new one
even though I am pretty sure I have the
latest version ....

OK well Shareaza is automatically starting
up on this PC when Windows Starts
along with eMule and when I do
a search for a Singer we all know from
Iceland I am getting 277 results

I will try and read your .pdf buy for

If you know how I can get like 1900
results like my eMule then

Does Shareaza connect to the DC++ network as well ?

eMule connects to the eD2k servers just as Shareaza does, as well as to KAD. Support for the latter has not yet been implemented in Shareaza however, which explains the difference in number of search results when comparing Shareaza with only eD2k enabled with eMule.

And yes, Shareaza does support DC++. However this network has been added somewhat lately so there are probably a few things our DC support is currently still missing.

For edonkey, find a server you can search to.
It depends of your location. Find someone you can search to. Set it to Priorityserver, by hitting F8, click at the bottom
edonkeycache and set it to priority.

Throw a .torrent into your downloadwindow, close the info-box and wait one hour for getting some sources.
