Problem installing Shareaza_2.6.0.1_Win32_Debug_r9263_2013-0

Hello everyone,
Hope this is the right section. been awhile since i've posted here. actually it's been so long i couldn't even remember my old login name (haha).. so i had to create a new account.
Anyways.. i was having issues with the 2.6.0.0 version. GUI freezing and other freezing issues. already tried a bunch of trouble shooting. same thing happens on another PC. So i tried using one of the debug versions - r9263_2013-04-13. When i tried installing it i get a pop-up saying " The procedure entry point GetThreadId could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll. same thing comes up trying to run shareaza and uninstalling it. I did a clean install of this.. uninstalled previous version, removed folders. i uninstalled the debug version.. downloaded it again and tried 1 more time, with the same issue. cant find anything about it here or anywhere else. i disabled AVAST and Comodo firewall, prior to installing. any clue what is going on??
System specs are as follows;
Windows XP professional - SP3 - fully updated (and yes this is a LEGAL copy of windows)
Pentium 4 CPU - 2.20GHz
1.50 GB RAM
any thoughts or suggestions would be very appreciated .. of course within reason
TIA
