The new version do not allow high ID connection anymore!

Some bug in the code prevents it as the ports are always changed randomly now by the program.

I can confirm that with Shareaza 2.7.8.0 under GNU/Linux with Wine. When I close and relaunch Shareaza (for instance when I change Shaeraza's language), the port value is modified, which results in a LowID.

This doesn't seem to be happening with the latest debug version. Would it be possible to give it a try and report the result?
