eDonkey stays "Disconnected"

I apologise in advance if this has been discussed many times on here, but I am having trouble "connecting" to the eDonkey network. Connecting to G1 and G2 are never a problem, but I dont know why edonkey wont connect. Ive tried everything I know so far; Ive passed the "connection" test, and Ive tried downloading the new servers listings in "edonkey settings, but it seems as though it does not complete the download. The progress bar goes all the way to the end but just stays there and nothing happens, so I have to either close the window or press cancel. Ive tried this dozens of times to know avail. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and I am using the latest version (v2.4.0.0)

can anyone help?

thanks.

Hey, Jay. I am having the exact same problem.

I'm not that tech savvy, so could you please describe what you just said in slightly more simplistic terms? I went to that site you suggested (http://ed2k.2x4u.de/index.html). Now, what am I opening?

There are three files that can be downloaded. One is titled "connect list", one is titled "best servers" and one is titled "all servers". Which of these files do I need to download?

Also, where is this "host cache" for edonkey in Shareaza located?

Please be as detailed as possible. Thanks a lot.

Rob

save the server.met file (all servers) on your desktop. Go into Shareaza -> View-> Host Cashe, on the bottom right click Edonkey cashe. Click the right mouse button somewhere in the screen and select "import met file" then add the file from your desktop.
cheers

I'd rather suggest using the "best servers" file instead of the "all servers" because "all servers" usually also includes the fake ones...
