problem with audio when "previewing" file

Postby jjay123 » 14 Oct 2009 04:45

When I "Preview" a partially downloaded file in Shareaza, there seems to be a problem with the audio, either there is none at all or the audio is completely screwed up. When previewing the file in another application (VLC player, Windows Media Player) there is stil no audio. I never had this problem with Crux p2p, which is an almost identical program to Shareaza, but in Crux nothing would preview in its media player, but I could preview the file in other players with no audio problems.

anyone know how to fix this?

cheers.

You can set in Shareaza settings any other external player you prefer (I have set VLC) and preview will be with this player you have set.
I don't know how with this particular incomplete, perhaps this is not complete enough to be decoded and played properly or is just damaged. Or perhaps this question of a bug in Shareaza player.

Cyko is right: antispam filter is needed or you most probably will loose plenty of time on spam. Recomended.
VLC use it's own codecks for playing files. When VLC plays then this can also mean you don't have installed in system codecs needed to play this file, and that was the reason, but not Shareaza player bug. Usually installing k-lite codecs megapack (or similar name, link in wiki) solve this problem. Note that thanks to Shareaza modular nature this is possible to attach external player: in fact the Shareaza, the one of plugins, preprepare incomplete to the form which is decodeable so playable, in limits of downloaded parts of file, however raw incomplete can be unplayable.
