finished downloads

Postby flitox » 05 Nov 2009 20:30

hello,

i've notice that since the 2.5, you cant see finished downloads when only "active" (let's hope this is the good translation) download is selected. to see them you have to select either "pending" or "no source" download (it keeps changing).

with other previous version, i've never had that behavior. so is it only me or something have changed with shareaza????

shareaza keeps also on freezing. i notice that mainly after browsing the web with firefox. even if the computer isn't using much resource, shareaza stops responding for a good minute, making me lose the connection with downloading peers and with the hubs (gnutella 1 & 2 only, still getting connected to the edonkey server)

i had the kind of behaviors with beta release but in much worse as then it spends most of it time freezing and using loads of cpu which is not the case here

My supposition is that this can have reason in 8Mb downloand, Try set it lower. Perhaps Shareaza is overloaded with data it can't process quick enough. Try 2Mb, observe, and make bigger if all is ok.
Throttle can be HDD, which also can write abive certain speed, So Shareaza must wait till it will finish, so freez for that time.

well, my download speed is suppossed to be faster, according to my provider but i've never been faster than 8Mo, downloading torrents. i'm very far from those speed with shareaza unfortunatly, too bad the files i'm usually down;oading haven't that much peers, even less with great speedy connection..... but thats not the problem

i don't really think this is a traffic overload, as it happen even if i'm downloading at 2ko.

it seems to happen everytime i close firefox (which usually eats loads of ram) but not when i'm using it.

also this never happened with version 2.4.0.0!!!!!

got an idea for the finished downloads?? why do i have to select either "pending" or "no source" filter in order to see them while i used to see them in previous version when "active" only was selected????? it's in my opinion not handy at all, if you happen to have many queued files (it might even used to work when nothing in filter was selected, all you could see then was the finished files....)

I have been tried to imagine this but I have no idea. In such a case I think you could download "Shareaza Instal Guide" and make the clean install according to it to see if/what was missed.

Anyway in [transfer] tab at right side are "filter" button, uperr for downloads, lower for uploads. When you click them then in first row of menu is "show all" - just click it. This should check all below items and show all kinds in download (respectively upload) area. If you have unchecked "show all" then only checked below categories will be displayed. Let us know effects.

i've been using shareaza for some years now, basically never used that show all filter because i just hate it and always had most of the time only active checked (only used pending & no source, when i wanted to verify has been going on) and until recent daily built before 2.5 came out, finished downloads ALWAYS showed with active only selected!! i'm 100% sure of that!! and i'm quite sure if i'd have uncheck all filter, only finished download would have shown up.

so for me, something was change somewhere in the code of shareaza so that it doesn't happen anymore. the weirdest thing in my opinion is that at time you have to check pending to see those finished download in the list, at time it is no source?

my system??? i thought i had replied to that already, i'm on win xp SP3, 1 go of ram and p4 at 2.66Ghz.

for the freezing thing, it seems to occor everytime after a process is using a bit too much cpu or memory. and it seems also that the more it that process uses the cpu or memory, the more time shareaza will remain frozen
