searching

I've been on shareaza for 2 days now and am downloading just music. I started with about 20 or more downloads of different songs and out of them 10 made it to the library and 2 of them actually worked. So I did some checking in forums and got Cyko's all in one filter, which was an improvement but the next 2 songs didn't work either. I'm on dialup here in bf Canada. I emptied my downloads so nothing shows but it says there is still 3 in audio and when I try to download a few other songs it tells me they are in my download list even though there is nothing showing and when I double click them nothing happens. How do I get rid of these invisible downloads? Sorry for the length but more info is better than not enough and I'm getting p'd off here already.48 hours and 2 songs. Bob

Well the filters only seem to work up to a point. You can also use the advance options and set the minimum file size to say 5MB. Even though there are drop down sizes you can input your own. Also, in the search results if your search is set for audio, there will be columns for lenght and bit rate. If those are blank, it's probably a fake file. That's what I look for. :geek:

Just want to say thanks to cyko and taxiboy for there quick responses to my question if they happen back here to read this. Taxiboys idea about the bitrate and length are good as they seem to coincide with another lesson I learnt from the forum here where someone said it was usually spam if the info box you get when you hover the pointer over a song, is short and contains very little info as opposed to the larger box with info on where the music came from(album, track# etc.). "Patience is a virtue" as they say and hopefully it will help me here. Bob
