Hi I have a question for you all, Does shareaza change file permissions when it downloads a file? I'm trying to access files downloaded by shareaza over my home network so i can burn them using my other computer, I can access the folder over my home network but all files shareaza downloads is missing the everyone permission so i have to add it manually to each file shareaza downloads, My download folder for shareaza is in My documents and i have that shared and every other folder has the correct permissions on the files so it must be that shareaza sets its own permissions to files it downloads?

In my limited knowledge Shareaza ought to use default system settings. But if Shareaza was installed later then you set them how you want them to be perhaps old default settings was used and this effect has occurred. I think you can just set this folder in the way you want it and Shareaza will not change it. By the way be careful and check twice: you should not allow for sharing to much data of your computer eg. whole C: drive, as when file would go to internet there is no way to stop other ppl from sharing it. So your work documents, personal photos or any other files you do not want to show in the net should not be shared accidentally.
@Devs: please confirm or correct above and the solution. Please leave explanation precise enough that it can be put into wiki. This subject is undocumented yet IMHO, and is quite important.

On some versions of windows files that are downloaded are flagged as coming from another computer. Shareaza follows this convention, but I'm not sure if this would effect accessing files over the network. There is an advanced setting "Library.MarkFileAsDownload" that should disable this behaviour

I fixed it but not by changing that pref, I had to move the incomplete folder out of the appdata directory, That was the problem. If anyone runs in to this problem you need to move the incomplete folder to a different location such as moving it into a folder in my documents. I set mine to /my documents/downloads/shareaza/incomplete and my downloads folder to /my documents/downloads/shareaza/completed, I usually do this anyway with all my other programs so i can find all downloads in one central downloads location such as /downloads/utorrent or /downloads/ftp

There's no logical reason why moving the location of the incomplete folder would affect the behavior of downloaded files, given that the folder completed downloads are moved to was not changed in any way.

Files in Incomplete are downloaded, and in Download are COPIED from Incomplete. This is different sources and can be different settings of folder access rights in windows to protect vital for windows folder.

Folder access rights would only affect the files in that folder. If I share folder X over my LAN but not folder Y, and copy a file from Y into X, it becomes visible over the network. It doesn't somehow "remember" that it was in Y, which was not shared. Why would it? If it did, it would be a massive pain (if it was possible at all) to move that file over the LAN. By copying it into X, I'm obviously saying "share that sucker".
