I need help again...no downloads

Postby stbaskets » 22 May 2010 23:30

Yesterday SZ was running at well over 100 KB/s I shut it down so I could restart my pc which I do about once a week so it can clear the history/cache/memory whatever. Before I restarted SZ I updated to this build Shareaza_2.5.2.2_Win32_Debug_r8609_2010-05-20.exe I also ran disk cleanup, ccleaner, and Spybot, which I do every time I shut my pc down. Now when I start SZ I get no downloads. I let it run for several hours because sometimes it's slow to pick up and still no downloads. The uploads are running at over 50 KB/s, I ran the connection test with the long timeout and passed it with no problems. I haven't changed anything in the settings or anything. Can someone help please :) TIA

Try going back to a release version. Debug builds are best for testing new code, not for high performance.

Watch for awhile. It's pretty likely that you were just connected to people with slower connections lately
if going back to the faster version didn't have any effect. 50KB/s is still 400kbps, so that's still a good
upload rate. You didn't mention who your ISP is, and that might be a factor, but if they were interfering
it would probably affect uploads more than that.

Try downloading something that you know must be fast and has a lot of sources.
