Shareaza

Been away for awhile (still got v 2.4). Glad to see many familiar faces. Anyway have a few questions:

Microsoft is ending support for XP SP2. There was talk at one time that SP3 was causing major problems for Shareaza. Is it safe to upgrade to SP3 now?

When some prick sabotaged our Shareaza forums, I lost my user name and had to relog in as hariseldon1. Has this been fixed now and can I have my username back?

I'm going to do a clean install of the new Shareaza version. Does it work with XP as good as 2.4 did?

How is everyone and the DL world?

I'll reply to your last question first: I'm fine

As for the user name, we use the SourceForge user name for our forums, which cannot be changed, therefore you must either create a new SF account to change your user name or you must manage somehow to contact their staff to let them change it...

As for XPSP3, I have no clue. I'm on WinXP x64, and there has never been a SP3 for that release of windows. Anyway, you should update to the latest version of Shareaza, as it brings huge improvements compared to the version you're currently using. (If you'd like to use the debug builds, there's a link at the bottom of the download page, where you can get them.)

I believe there is no special problem with SP3.

I've been running shareaza on SP3 for a long time with no problems. I think you might need to re-apply the lvllord patch though

Thanks Guys...will upgrade this weekend...apparently am forced to upgrade to SP3 this month as support is ending for SP2. Been away for a year having so many problems with my former ISP throttling traffic and my router failing (which I thought was my new ISP's fault), but now I've got a new (old never used) router I'm ready to get this thing running again.
Sadly, my favorite torrent site is no more - so we'll see what happens tomorrow when I delete 2.4 and install 2.5. I'm always nervous each time I do this clean install (probably shouldn't be).
