Sources Not Serving Up File?

There's a file in my transfer queue that I've been trying to download for several days. It's stuck at 83%, despite the fact that there are dozens of sources, most of which have 100% of the file already.

For some sources, the queue is very long and I end up being 50th or 100th or further out than that. But over time, I can see myself getting down to #1 in the queue for a given source, and yet my complete % never goes up. Its as if I get to the head of the queue and am then bumped off or something.

Any help with this would be appreciated!

I'm seeing the same sort of thing with numerous of my downloads. The only thing they all have in common is that they're ed2k downloads. The actual sources differ from one to the next. Some have dozens of sources and frequently show as "active" or as downloading with a low throughput. None have made any visible progress (% hasn't gone up) in WEEKS.

What is going on here?

@ kevin-bkt: are your files also ed2k downloads?

I'm starting to wonder if there is a bug here....

lets try this:
1) go to your incompletes folder and file the filenames that match the hash of you file
2) copy them to another location on your computer (like your desktop for example)
3) in the downloads window cancel the download
4) using the hash in the filename perform a hash search for the file(using the "H" button in the search window)
5) restart your download
6)pause the file on the transfers tab
7) right-click on the file in the downloads window and select "properties"
8) on the "actions" tab click "merge with local file and verify"
9) select the "hash.partial" file
10) resume your download
11) wait

Yes, the file I'm having trouble with is sourced by ed2k clients.

I followed the procedure you outlined and am still seeing the same behavior. After the merge, I was almost immediately shown as #1 on one source's queue. That source had 100% of the file. 20 minutes later I checked and they were either gone or I had been bumped down their queue. Not sure which.

Do you remember the name of the client of the source?

I'm 99% sure it was eMule, since almost all of the sources for this file are versions of eMule.

I'm sorry. I don't know what "endgame mode" means.

I've been observing the behavior of Shareaza closely, and I see two scenarios related to this issue. The first one is where I get to #1 on some source's queue, they have 100% of the file, and somehow they disappear without any change in my download completion. The second, and more interesting, scenario is where I again get to #1 on some source's queue and they don't disappear, but I suddenly find myself bumped way down their queue.

In one particular case, I was #1 on the queue of a given source, then within a short time I was #358 on the same queue.

Can anyone make sense of what's happening here?

Thanks in advance.

please censor the left side of those images and post them again. The shareaza community does not promote or condone copyright infringement or discussions about it.

Okay, sorry about the images. My description is probably sufficient. As I said, I was #1 on a given source's queue then found myself at #358. What would cause that?
