Shareaza and BT mainline DHT Support

Postby mojo85 » 24 Oct 2009 04:24

Could Shareaza possibly support BT mainline DHT? I've stumbled to what is in use with Transmission, it seems to be a simple C based library consisting of 2 files (dht.c, and dht.h), and offcourse it is Open Source ... seems to be GPL. Could developers see if this code could be integrated smoothly into Shareaza?

The coders name is Juliusz Chroboczek.

So is this worth incorporating into Shareaza?

This has been possible for years now... The only problem is, there have never been much Shareaza users using the application for downloading torrents, so you will hardly ever have noticed the effect... (But I have already ;) )

What pirates used to do in case of danger? Go to an open sea... looking for a new bay, that is all. Will be enough when they will point another bay. Everyone will move there, don't you think? Or perhaps trackers should use G2 method to inform that they are somwhere there.

So as an update, TPB Tracker is Dead and this is more reason to focus on PEX, and mainline DHT implementation. Ryo how has the code review went?

Not the site, but the tracker. The tracker is now officially offline, the Torrent Files will either contain open trackers or no trackers needing DHT and Peer Exchange to obtain peers.
