quick design i did for a better looking webui for shareaza just wanna get thoughts before i do any more and waste my time.

Well, personally I like it. The only thing I can suggest is to make the page's design fluid so that it can adapt to various screen resolutions (fav.jpg and home.jpg do not fit in my window, I must use the horizontal scrollbar to see them).

There is a reason the remote interface is rather plain looking. Including images in the layout slows down the initial loading of pages.

Your design is okay, but I do not think it is good enough to justify inclusion in Shareaza. This is only my opinion and others may disagree.

Why not create it entirely on CSS rather than images?

Some small images would be ok, because once it loads the first time it your browser will generally cache the file for the future. Still should limit the images, but css can do quite a bit without worrying about loading images

Also, in the future please use a website like mediafire(that doesnt limit downloads to free users) or upload directly here. Rapidshare is only good if everyone has an account, which most people dont.

Total size of images: 15kB

Its small, but it adds a lot. More time and it could look much better, without having to bulk up the size

I also modded my remote slightly by editing some of the HTML files. It looks like this:


and then there is my other separate project - the web GUI - that looks like this:
First Draft - more eye candy
Second Draft - cross-browser, more functional, incomplete

I like second draft. It would be also a nice interface for a command line version. The streaming option is very nice too, but won't it take too much bandwidth?
