It is customary on forums to have a thread dedicated to introductions.
So tell us a little about yourselves and how you discovered Shareaza.

I will start. My name is Kevin, and I am from Wisconsin, USA. I discovered Shareaza back in 2002 as a frequenter of Zeropaid and Slyck.

My real name is Alex. I'm from Lvov, Ukraine. (This sound like i'm with anonymous alcoholics

)
I discovered Shareaza in 2004. At that time i'm already was p2p-manic, hardcore DC++ and eDonkey networks user and, former WinMX user. I wanted something new, so using Google found Shareaza. And almost instantly deleted it because of shiny skinny interface, integrated media player, that floating thing - "player?", GT (i'm a hater of this network) and not so good ED2K support. Oh, that was big mistake - because there was "power mode", skins can be turned off, Shareaza works decently on Linux.
So from autumn 2005 i'm hardcore Shareaza user (i'm close my eyes on that frustrating basic/power modes

).

Hello, I am OldDeath.
As you may see from my name, I am very old and I should lay in a grave right now. But instead, as being dead is so boring if you have to lay all the time in a grave, where you can only feel the worms eating you up (it's dark so you can't even actually see them), I decided to come back and spend some time scaring n00bs with my name.
(Ah yeah, just in case you didn't know, but I used to eat up little girls before I died (that's why they killed me in the first place^^), so in case you are underage and female, be aware, I'll come and visit you. And you can trust me... I'm
hungry...

)
mfg,
Old

Hello,
My name is Carl but I am known as RocketX around these parts. I was introduced to Shareaza by the founding developer, Mike, back in its hey day. I created the ShareazaOS skin and the 2nd incarnation of the website's design. Have been in and out of the Shareaza scene for many years, usually poke my head in to see what is happening every now and then when I have some spare time.

Btw, sucks about the latest news of the website(s). What is wrong with the world these days??

Hi everyone. I'm George and I try to run the Beacon II cache at gwc.frodoslair.net thanks to some great help from Cyko getting it setup.
A big Welcome Back to Wout too!
I vaguely remember the name from a ways back in the earlier days of Shareaza. Good to see you have returned and Thank You!
George
P.S. I'm not one of the developers here but, I do like to keep track of what's going on with Shareaza so I try to stop in here from time to time.

Thanks to everyone for being in this community and teaching old guys like me.

I'm Joseph from Tennessee. A long time Shareaza-aholic since Kazaa-lite was shut down. I have been in P2P since Audiogalaxy R.I.P. I have made a few small developer contributions to the project including fixing a small bug in the hash progress which kept Shareaza from working on Windows 2000. Since then I have been working on a few side projects but will always be here if ever needed.

Here we are.. some years later and much has changed. I see some of the old names are still going strong and my memory is smiling at them.... so many years we went through so so much together.. OMG...the traumas, the upsets and then the joy of success, just so much

I need to say....Thank you Mike Stokes for the experience you gave to me/us, involving me/us in Shareaza from your first inception to where it is now. I'm remembering now....While we were on IRC, you were amazing and a lovely lovely person, so kind and open to anyone who wanted to help and be involved. I hope you are successful in your life Mike.. thank you for the tremendous innovations you introduced to P2P, they were groundbreaking at the time, not many appreciate that or even know about it, but all the other P2P applications copied you, need I say more
