Can't Disable partial files from uploading

Postby Amadar » 26 Mar 2014 01:26

Greetings,

I am running version 2.7.3.0 64-bit clean install on Windows 7.

I am having trouble disabling partial files from being available for upload. I have un-checked the "Share NEW partial downloads". I have cleared all my partials several times, but often when I am downloading something ( especially something that takes a day to get all the pieces ), I see where people have been able to grab the partials.

I have tried also to edit the HTTP Guard and DC ++ Guard Queues, But they just re-create a new version of themselves with partial enabled. I am able to edit the "Partial" Queue, but people are getting the partials via the HTTP Guard queue.

I went through the advanced section of the setting menu and confirmed both "Upload.SharePartials*" and "Upload.SharePreviews*" are set to false.

I have read through the forums, and have seen a couple of post on the subject, but either there was no resolution, or the suggested resolution is one I have already done.

Any suggestions?

All downloads that have been started when you deselect the "share NEW partials" option will upload to other people, no matter how many times you delete their partial files. You need to remove your downloads completely (and readd them) for there to be no uploads anymore.

You should be warned however that your upload speeds should suffer considerably if you do not upload what you download to other people...

As for the upload queues, they are supposed to recreate so that in the event you should desire to upload something they do exist ;)

Disabling uploads is not part of filesharing. ( especially partials )
Some files are only complete, flying in the net.
OD: Sometimes you really phrase complicate.
