How2 connect Shareaza to torrent site?

Postby mem5449 » 19 Apr 2014 21:41

How can i use Shareaza to access torrents off specific torrent sites? What format are links usually written in? Could someone give me an example of how to download off 'kickass.to' from Shareaza? Thanks.

I'm not certain what your problem is... No matter the torrent site, you just click on a torrent link once you have Shareaza installed. This can either be a link to a .torrent file or a so-called magnet link.

Example: The ubuntu install DVD (torrent link)
An example for magnet links can be found on our download page: http://shareaza.sourceforge.net/?id=download#p2p

My Shareaza install is a stand-alone PC that just DOES that.. P2P. I doing my 'browsing' from my other PC and when I see a torrent I am interested in, I use TeamViewer to get to Shareaza and 'give' it the link to go get it. I must not be formatting the links right because, although they appear to go into 'download queue' on the Shareaza machine, they never start to download.

Whereas, when I used qbitorrent (in the past) they would start to download immediately. Any thoughts on how to use the feature where you 'tell' Shareaza where the torrent is (URL)? Thanks.

Hmmmm... do you pass the connection test? (Can be found within the help menu.)

And as for whether you are making it right: If clicking on the link doesn't work for you, just use the "copy link address" feature from your web browser and select Tools > Download File/Torrent within Shareaza. Then paste your link into the box and it will start when you hit OK.
