Why do allow the same ip addresses to spread viruses???

Postby thikeight » 04 Oct 2009 22:56

I have been a user for several years. I noticed that any search I make has the same sized files and the same IP addresses that are stricly all files that are viruses.... If you block those addresses or even the that exact file size that should end it. They are all 5,3, 5.99.4.99,3.99mb sized files..... Every address starts with 201.51.201.167+1065 and usually in order.... They always the same and the same addresses and same sized files! I don't know why these a@$$oles get off putting these online but they are always viruses if you download them. Please block them from your system and stop speading these viruses. I don't think they would waste the time and effort to keep switching them so I would suggest blocking them from the system..

Thanks.

I think they are antyp2p. For this purposes of blocking them you can use security rules in Shareaza, Cyko filters or (like me) Peerguardian2.

Also, if you are using ed2k you will see a LOT of these. You can stop the fake/spam ed2k servers by using PG2(or if you use windows 7[maybe vista too, not sure if pg2 works on vista atm] use PeerBlock) and using ONLY the peerates.net good server list.

I have ssen on Peerguardian2 site many versions: I am not sure but from memory I think there was for 64, vista and W7. You can also ask at chat channel #phoenixlabs, type "/join phoenixlabs" and PG2 developers can help you. PG2 site have phoenixlabs in name.
A new soft is PeerBlock, seems to be good but I dont have any experiences with this one.

ocexyz, PeerBlock is almost the same exact interface as PG2. Works well, and best of all it at least works on W7(which means its very likely it works on vista).. Havent tested on the others tho. But its basically the same as PG2 where PG2 isnt an option
