Why can't I connect to the networks?

Postby i-r-baboon » 17 Oct 2012 13:10

It seems like no one reads old threads so I start a new one.

All of a sudden I can no longer connect to any of the networks. It worked fine yesterday but today it's impossible i tried and passed the connection test from the help menu. Also when I check the network tab it seems like all connections timeout with in one (1) second.
I scanned the PC for viruses using McAfee and fond no threats.

Anyone that can help me with this problem?

Edit : Update, Now the program say I'm connected to one neighbour, But at the same time it say that it trying to connect to all networks, What's happening?

Update 2, No again it say that I'm not connected but still someone is able to load files from me, Strange.... :?

Update 3, Now I can download, But still the program say I'm not connected, Why???? :? :?
I'm starting to think that there must be some "bad" program on my PC that directs me trough some computer/computers on the way to the Gnutella network, Anyone who have any idea what may have happened?
Please help me.

I've asked around for help for my similar problem.

I can only connect to eDonkey.

My Gnutella1, Gnutella2, and DC++ do not connect.

Is your problem like this?

If you are not connected despite trying for a long time and you pass the firewall test (and even if you don,t really..), the probable cause is with the discovery services. You can find then the View menu under advanced or by pressing F9. Once there just right click on "GWebCaches" and choose "Query Now" until you find "hosts", at that point connections should start working. Note that discovery services need some time to respond, so wait for the response before clicking on the next service, please. You can also download and install a Shareaza debug build. I understand those have a recent update related to Gnutella connections.

The reason you were able to download and upload without being connected, is because in addition to finding sources from hubs and ultrapeers clients also exchange information about known sources directly with each other. This works even if you are not "connected" right at the moment.
