Add or edit the Exception List rule by doing the following:

  1. Open the PC-cillin Internet Security program window. Click on Start > Programs > Trend Micro Internet Security > Trend Micro Internet Security.
  2. Select Firewall > Firewall Profiles.
Select the profile that you want to edit.
  3. On the Profile Settings screen, click the Exception List option.
         * To add an Exception List rule, click Add. (if there is already a Shareaza rule, you may edit it)
         * To edit an Exception List rule, select the rule to edit, and then click Edit.

  4. On the Rule Name field, type or modify the name or description of the rule.
         * Under the Port Direction tab, select either Incoming connections or Outgoing connections, or both. (You'll likely want to make two rules, one for ingoing, one for outgoing)
         * Under the Protocol tab, choose a protocol type. (You'll want to choose both, for the rules to apply to both tcp and udp.)
  5. Click either Allow Internet traffic or Deny Internet traffic. (You'll wish to choose allow, since we are making rules to allow some types of traffic.)
Under Choose the computers... option, select one of the following:
         * All IP addresses: All IP addresses will be either allowed or denied based on whether the action for this rule is to allow or deny Internet traffic. (For the Shareaza rules, I think you should choose this option)
Under Choose the type of ports... option, select one of the following:
         * To allow or deny all ports for incoming or outgoing connections, click All ports.
         * To specify a port number or range of port numbers, click Specified ports(s), and type the port numbers.
For incoming rules the specified port number is describing a port number on your own computer. Thus for incoming rules, allow only connections to the Shareaza listen port (Shareaza settings-->internet-->connection: port)
For outgoing rules the port number is describing a port number on another computer. Thus you'll want to leave this on 'all ports', since remote users you may want to connect to could be using any port to listen on.
  6. Click OK.

Clear the rule checkbox to keep the rule in the Exception List.
