PeerGuardian 2 (PG2)

  • http://phoenixlabs.org/pg2/ PeerGuardian 2 is Phoenix Labs’ premier IP blocker for Windows. PeerGuardian 2 integrates support for multiple lists, list editing, automatic updates, and blocking all of IPv4 (TCP, UDP, ICMP, etc), making it the safest and easiest way to protect your privacy on P2P. It is maintained but not developed actively, open source. Idea is continued by PeerPblock team, described below.

PeerBlock

  • http://www.peerblock.com/ PeerBlock lets you control who your computer "talks to" on the Internet. By selecting appropriate lists of "known bad" computers, you can block communication with advertising or spyware oriented servers, computers monitoring your p2p activities, computers which have been "hacked", even entire countries! They can't get in to your computer, and your computer won't try to send them anything either. This is continuation (fork) of PeerGuardian 2, fixed and recomended for Vista and W7 users - while PG2 is not.
