Media Player settings
File:Settings media player.png
Options
- Use the Shareaza Media Player to PLAY the file types listed below
If this option is checked, the Shareaza Media Player will be used, if you double click a Media file, or if you choose Open or Preview from the contextual menu. You can temporarily disable the integrated Media Player by holding down the Shift key while double clicking a file or selecting Open or Preview from the contextual menu.
- Use the Shaeraza Media Player to ENQUEUE the file types listed below
If this option is checked, the Shareaza Media Player will be used to enqueue media files in a play list if you use the Enqueue command from the contextual menu. If this is not checked, you can specify an external application like Winamp or Media Jukebox.
File Types
Here you can specify the file types that you wish to be handled by Shareaza Media Player. The media player uses DirectShow codecs installed on your system (but it doesn't use the Windows Media Player component), so it should be able to play all the files the Windows Media Player can play. File Types not specified here will open in the default handler for that file type.
Audio Visualisation Plugin
The "Select Plugin..." button allows you to choose a visualisation plugin. The visualisation will be displayed on the Media tab. Shareaza comes with the Mike's simple Scopes plugin. It also supports Windows Media Player visualisations and Sonique visualisation Plugins. Windows Media Player visualisations are recognized automatically. To use Sonique visualisations you have to create a folder called "vis" (without the quotes) in the Shareaza directory. Then put the *.svp file in this folder.
Media Services Plugin
There is the possibility of using a different media services plugin, should one be satisfactorily developed. Note: This setting will not be in Shareaza 2.2.3
Media Handling
Instead of the Shareaza media player, you may choose an external application to run when you choose to open a media file in Shareaza. {New Setting}
