This is a list of some of the most common commercial Virus scanners.
Free
However some companies provide their Anti-Virus software free for personal use.
Online
If you don't want to install a new Anti-Virus program, because you already have one installed, but still suspect an infection you can use a free online scanner which doesn't require any installation:

If you are already dealing with an infected system you might find McAfees's stinger utility useful which can detect and remove the most common viruses/worms and doesn't require installation.
