Insructions of port forwording in Kaspersky Internet Security 2006

Note that Shareaza by default listens to local port 6346, and this is the port instructed here. Communication is both to and from this port.

Open Kaspersky IS and under "Protection" go to "Anti Hacker".

Under "Status" go to "Firewall".

Enable Anti Hacker and Firewall (otherwise you don't have a running firewall, which is also fine with shareaza, but not recommended) and go to "Settings" under "Firewall".

Click "Add" and locate Shareaza (Default destination is C:\Prgram Files\Shareaza).

Now you have 2 options:

1) Use the "Preset" rules for "Allow All" (this will allow all in and out TCP and UDP on all ports and IPs).

2) Specify a rule: "Add"

Check "Local Port" box and Click on the "Enter Local Port" at the bottom screen.

Type "6346" and click "OK". Repeat this, but now click at "TCP" at the bottom screen and change it to "UDP". Be sure that the rules Allow Inbound and Outbound connections.

Click OK and see that Shareaza is now on the list.

Go to "Rules for Packet Filtering" and make sure there is no rule that blocks TCP \ UDP packets at port 6346. There shouldn't be, but if there is just add the same rules as described earlier and make sure they are above the blocking rule (use "Move Up" botton).

After doing this be sure to check with the connection tests at FirewallGuide. Enjoy Shareaza!
