eDonkey2000 Network

Connect to eDonkey2000 today Shareaza will connect to the eDonkey network for this session. This will be turned off after restarting Shareaza.

Auto-connect every session Shareaza will always connect to the eDonkey network automatically.

Global Searching

If Search known remote servers in the server cache is turned on, Shareaza will query the eDonkey servers in your host cache, which has the effect of searching the entire ed2k network. Otherwise, Shareaza will search only the server on which you are connected. Shareaza will stop searching after it has gathered X results (default: 100).

Client Link Connections

This limits the number of connections Shareaza makes to other eDonkey clients. This setting is especially useful for people running Windows 9x, because this version of windows only allows a very limited number of simultaneous connections. It is also important for users which are behind a firewall, because many routers tend to crash if they have many open or pending connections. Note that you can still get could performance with a Client Link Connection setting of perhaps 50. Ed2k does not require an active connection while enqueued; so you can, at any one time, be enqueued on many more ed2k users than the limit shown here.

eDonkey2000 Tools

Import eDonkey/eMule partial downloads (.part) This button allows you to import your partial, unfinished downloads from eMule or eDonkey into Shareaza, so that you can finish downloading them with Shareaza. Just click the button and select your eMule / eDonkey incomplete files directory. Shareaza will do the rest. eMule changed the format of their .part.met files, so your success with this feature will be poor until it is properly updated. It is also possible to import incomplete .part files using Shareaza's advanced edit reverifying as if 100% complete feature.

Download eDonkey2000 serverlist from the Web For it's initial connection to the eDonkey network Shareaza requires a list of known servers. It's normally not necesary to click this button, since Shareaza comes with a list of servers and it will learn about new servers if it connects to other servers or clients.
