Warning: This is a medium-advanced trick which should not be used unless you know what are you doing and you are advanced enough in general computers using. Performed incorrectly may cause loose of current active downloads, however will not damage Shareaza installation.

There are several ways to remove old and unused Incomplete files (.partial files) from your Incomplete folder. You can either identify all currently active downloads by checking their advanced properties and identifying the currently active incomplete files by their name (which contains one of the hashes displayed in the download properties), or you can use the following steps:

Note: It is extremely important that you follow these steps exactly as they are described and that you make a backup copy of your Incomplete folder in order to avoid loosing your active Downloads in case of an eventual problem.

  1. Open Shareaza and the folder on your HD containing your Incomplete files. Note that if Shareaza is not running while performing these operations, all your currently active downloads (the files Shareaza is downloading at the present time) will be lost.
  2. Delete all of the .sd files in your Incomplete folder and also all preview files (= every file with a file extension different than ".partial").
  3. Shareaza will automatically replace the .sd files for your active downloads.
  4. Match your "new" .sd files to the partial files.
  5. Those not matching the newly created .sd files can then be deleted.

Now all inactive and unused files should have been removed.
