What does "Move Error" Mean?

If you get an error similar to Could not move download '...' to '...', then it means Windows could not move the file for some reason. Check that the incomplete file is not in use, and that your downloads folder exists and is writable and has enough space to accomodate the file. If you are using XP/2000, make sure the account you are logged in with has write permissions to the appropriate folders.

This may also be caused by a download with a file name that does not conform to the standards set by Windows, such as the use of a symbol like a colon (":") in the file name. While the temporary file may have used an underscore ("_"), Shareaza tries to write the final file name using the colon.

Added file with /\ or more than 256 characters

If you cannot move a completed file from one folder to another, see if Shareaza is currently uploading the file. If yes, end any uploads associated with that file and try again.

Problem solving (1 easy 2 intermediate 3 difficult

1.Disable net connection, restart Shareza. Try to make some space available on your hard drive.

2.Copy file from incomplete and torrent info to another BT client, resume torrent or if it is a other download just rename it to same ending (rar/iso/zip...). This works only for single file torrents, not batch torrents.

3.For batch torrents, see the advice here: Troubleshoot.TorrentStuck.
