Norton Internet Worm Protection

Norton Internet Worm Protection is a feature in Norton Internet Security, starting from version 2003. Basicly it limits the number of outgoing connections a single application can make in a certain timeframe (much like SP2 in Windows XP), so potential worms that might have infected you don't spread around to others so fast. Unfortunately, due to the nature of P2P, the worm protection kicks in after starting Shareaza, as it needs to contact many peers at once to find one that is suitable to connect to. Disabling this feature will NOT make you vulnerable to worms, so it's safe to do so.

Unfortunately there seems to be a bug in worm protection, as it doesn't seem to remember the 'always permit' option even when you check it. To fix it: delete the worm protection settings rule for Shareaza, then remake it, or just disable the feature altogether.
